Project Description
Quilt was started while I was teaching in the beautiful Italian village of Orvieto. All the fabrics in this quilt were created from white fabric using a variety of surface design techniques such as dyeing, painting, rubbing, stamping and foiling. The overlay design was a semicircular wrought iron frame over the door of my favourite coffee shop.
It was created as part of my exhibition celebrating my Jewel Pearce Patterson award for quilting teachers displayed at the International Quilt Festival in Houston USA in 2011.
